A Pirate’s Dream, A Day We Won’t Forget 🏴‍☠️

This past Saturday, SAYC had the honor of hosting a truly special Pirate Takeover—one that meant far more than just costumes and fun.

We welcomed Ryder, a young boy whose strength and spirit have inspired everyone around him. Despite facing an incredibly difficult journey, Ryder continues to meet each day with resilience—and one dream: to become a pirate.

Thanks to the Matanzas Bay Buccaneers, our SAYC team, and an amazing show of community, that dream came to life.

From the moment he arrived, Ryder wasn’t just a guest—he was part of the crew. Surrounded by pirates, laughter, and pure joy, he stepped into a world created just for him. For a few hours, it was all about adventure, imagination, and simply being a kid.

His family shared how much the day meant to them, and it was clear to everyone there that this was more than just an event—it was a moment that will be remembered.

It’s days like this that remind us what SAYC is truly about: community, connection, and showing up when it matters most.
